Employment Dashboard July 2023
In July, job ad levels rose for the first time since January largely due to growing demand in New South Wales and Queensland.
Job ads on seek.com.au are 20.0% higher than in July 2019, demonstrating that the market continues to be tight. But, with applications per job ad also continuing to rise month-on-month, up 4.4% in June, candidates are now seeing more competition for those roles on offer.
The Hospitality & Tourism industry had jobs rise 12.4% month-on-month, with roles such as Wait Staff, Chefs & Cooks and Bar Staff all increasing in available opportunities for candidates. This is the fastest growth in demand for Hospitality & Tourism workers since job ads peaked mid-last year.
